揽月亭位于东峰之巅，始建于1974年，1976年竣工，位于东峰之巅，该亭高28米，是四层、重檐、八角的大型钢混结构仿古亭。此亭竣工之后，恰逢毛泽东诗词《重上井冈山》发表，因诗中有“可上九天揽月，可下五洋捉鳖”诗句，所以在征集亭名称时定为“揽月亭”。建筑面积1300平方米，号称“明月神州第一亭”。揽月亭设计独特，登三楼可俯瞰江城吉林全貌，四楼设有接待室，每年有大量国内外游客到此参观游览。现今的揽月亭已成为北山画院所在地，以“素魄生辉”为主题的全国首家月文化展馆便坐落于此。它是目前国内唯一全面展示月文化的场馆。此馆2002年对游客正式开放，它不仅是传播月文化知识的场所，还是书法、绘画交流学习之处。

Moon Pavilion

        Its construction began in 1974 and it was completed in 1976. It is located on top of the East Peak. 28 meters in height and octagonal in form, it is a large steel-structured pavilion modeled after an antique. It has four stories and double eaves. Its construction area is 1,300 square meters, known as "the first pavilion in the moon-lit holy land". The Moon Pavilion has a unique design. On its third floor, people can have a bird’s eye view of the river city of Jilin. Inside the pavilion there is the "Moon Culture Exhibition Hall" visited by a large number of domestic and foreign tourists each year. It is not only a place to disseminate cultural knowledge but also a venue of calligraphy and painting exchange and learning.
